This beautiful and historically important 34m yacht is now offered for sale. During an ownership of nine years. BLUE LEOPARD has benefited greatly from a massive transfusion of care, maintenance and upgrading, wholly in keeping with her origins. Designed by Jack Laurent Giles to satisfy a clear brief from his clients, she was built of cold moulded wood veneer over aluminium frames by Wm Osborne Ltd. A performance target of 15 knots under sail, and the same under power, was achieved by light displacement and long overhangs which increase waterline length when the yacht moves ahead. Yacht design specialist and commentator, Douglas Phillips-Birt, wrote in this magazine: "She is, without question, the most successful combination of fully-rigged sailing yacht, fast motor yacht and comfortable home afloat ever produced. BLUE LEOPARD's interior now benefits from a considerable upgrade, which included attention to all owner / guest cabins, the saloon and pilothouse. On deck, attention has been paid to deck hardware. The brightwork is pristine. The present owners ordered BLUE LEOPARD around the world. Now she is back in the Mediterranean, looking in very good health and available for a new owner.
