Aero Rig Pilothouse Yacht

An innovative design, JACQUELINA is powered by her Aero rig, whereby the sails are set hydraulically and then controlled by trimming the main sheet allowing the rig to rotate by wind pressure to the optimum sailing angle. To quote Andrew Smith of North Sails: "The boat sailed very well and Bill Dixon has designed a fast, powerful and comfortable yacht. The rig, once again, showed why it has to be the way forward for large yachts. It was difficult to remember when sailing that this boat was over 80ft long. It was all so easy and done with so little fuss, but with all the fun and power of a true sailing yacht. As a gust approached, you waited for that boat to heel over a lot but she would heel a little, the mast would bend a little more and the boat would accelerate. The mast simply "damped" the gust out, leaving you with the feeling that it was all so effortless and smooth".
